Description of the workshop:
Students will watch demos and learn about contemporary drawing techniques that explore abstraction/figuration and expressive mark-making.
SCHEDULE
9 am : Gather at Emmanuel church.
10 am -12 noon Instruction.
12-1 lunch. Bring your own. Coffee and tea provided.
1-4pm instruction with a break during the afternoon
4 pm Clean up.

Preliminary Supply List
Colin Davis will provide communal supplies as well:
1 sheet of large drawing paper (~22"x30") charcoal/pastel paper is preferred, but any decent drawing paper or hot press paper will do
Pad of charcoal paper or drawing paper. Strathmore 300 charcoal paper or equivalent is fine (nothing fancy needed)
Translucent Vellum/tracing paper/mylar (~9"x12")
Charcoal
India Ink
Brushes (for use with charcoal and India ink. Not precious sable brushes)
Unconventional tools for mark-making (old toothbrush, bike chain, leaf, bubble wrap, etc.)
Pencils
Erasers including a kneadable eraser
Spray bottle
Bonus if you want:
Drawing board with clips
Gloves
Mask
Fixative or hairspray
