NOAA History

In 1956 the North Bay Art Association was one of the five founding members of the Northern Ontario Art Association. Each September, the NOAA host an Annual Juried Exhibition, and invite members from all 16 participating associations to enter. Judges have included well-know artists such as A.Y. Jackson and A.J. Casson. The paintings selected by the judges tour numerous scheduled venues through Northern Ontario for the year, until the next NOAA is hosted. Each association takes turns hosting this annual juried show. As a member of the North Bay Art Association, you are also a member of the Northern Ontario Art Association, and are eligible to enter these annual juried exhibitions. If your work is selected, your work will tour for eight months through our north. If an artist are selected for five shows, the artist will receive a pin, and the right to the NOAA letters.
